Otherworlds ComicsOtherworlds is a collective term for the many world settings created by Astra Crompton.
This website is dedicated specifically to those tales told in a comic, or graphic novel, medium.
The current running titles are Angel*Down and Weaponry.
3ninERASE will be starting up when Angel*Down finishes, or when Astra can do all this art-stuff full time.

Frequently Queried:•How often do you update?
*Not often enough? Ideally I'd like to get to a once-a-week schedule, but right now, it's looking more like once to twice a month for Angel*Down. Weaponry updates every Monday. I work on the pages as swiftly as I can, but the comic projects are currently juggled with commissions work, novel writing/editing/promoting, and a full time IRL job.
•How long will Angel*Down/Weaponry be?
*Angel*Down is altogether about 140 pages. The entire thing is blocked out, it just takes time to actually draw the pages in real form. Weaponry is an interactive Choose Your Own Adventure project, so it will go on until people lose interest in it, or when I get sick of it, whichever comes first. 3ninERASE is still being blocked out.
•What tools do you use to draw your comics?
*Angel*Down is done entirely in Photoshop CS2 with a Wacom Tablet (hence its slowness). Weaponry is drawn entirely by mechanical pencil and coloured in Photoshop CS2.
•How come you spell funny? What's with all those extra vowels everywhere?
*I'm Canadian, and use the Queen's English.
•I really like your work! Can I help out?
*Thank you! If you feel pecuniarily inclined, you can donate any amount you desire - or if you like to get things for your dollars, you can purchase the print volumes of the comics as they are completed. Angel*Down Volume One and Weaponry Chapter One will be the first available copies. Both of these options can be found in the Shop section. From time to time, I will also be offering up original artwork, signed prints, original Cosplay craft (based on these characters and sewn/made by yours truly), and other extras in the shop as well. If there's some sort of merchandise you'd like to see, please let me know.
•Can I use your artwork?
*You can make buttons, banners, wallpapers, memes etc so long as you give credit (and ideally a link). If you want to draw these characters, do a Cosplay (Oh, I can dream!), or write a fanfic - please send me a link to your creations, and I will feature them on the website!
•Can I contact you with questions, comments, other issues?
*Please do! There are many ways you can do that! You can e-mail me (see the Links tab), comment on the Weaponry blog that updates with each page update, or contact me through deviantART (again, see the links). I'm currently the only moderator here, so I apologize in advance for lag. If the community grows to warrant it, I'll try to rope some froods into helping run the blogs forums.

Livestreaming & Big Cartel:
I've started a livestream channel - which can be found here: http://www.livestream.com/otherworldscomics
I've decided to try offering some livestreams on Sunday afternoons of me working on the next page of the comic. I'd love for you to come and hang out if you're around. :3
I've also started a Big Cartel to better facilitate the merchandise in the shop section, which you can still find under the same tab. <3
Fund-raising:
Well,
taking my lead from other comics that I read and admire, I've decided to
reach out and tip my hat in the hopes of support. The cost of running
this website is something that I've always been hoping could be funded
by the comic itself. Currently it is all coming out of my pocket -
website hosting fees, art supplies, cost of merchandise, convention
appearances, etc.
Originally I was hoping the goods in the shop
would be sufficient to cover these costs, but as making such goods for
sale requires capitol in and of itself, the fact that a proper shopping
cart system increases the costs of website hosting by roughly 150%, the
fact that I don't get enough page views yet to warrant offering
advertising space, and the fact that I have not yet been able to finish
and print hard copies of the comics to sell, I need to look to other
sources to try to recoup some of these rapidly accruing costs.
That
said, I've never been one to ask for help and offer nothing in return.
Yes, the comic goes up every week for free, yes I volunteer
approximately 12 hours a week on Weaponry and approximately 8 hours per
page of Angel*Down - and I mean to continue doing so.
Here is my proposal:
For
each person who donates to the OtherworldsComic fund, I will draw a
thank-you sketch. Each will be unique to the donor, and will increase in
complexity based on the amount donated. For donations of $25 or more,
I'll even mail you the original. Each time the collective donation pool
reaches $100, I'll post up an extra page on top of the regular posting
schedule. If you'd like, you can include with your donation which of the
two comics you'd like your contribution to go towards.
I'm not
expecting much, and I understand others are as broke as I am. This will
be an ongoing fund, and there will be no limit to the amount or number
of times one can donate, I will keep drawing sketches for each
contribution.
Keep in mind I am solely running both comics and the
website on my own, so at this time, I'll draw you whichever character
I'm in the mood for, so they'll be a surprise and will be emailed to the
paypal donation email, as well as included in a shout out post in
the blog each week.
